Miracles!

This week has been the best week ever! So far. Holy moly. Miracles. miracles. miracles. Prayer and fasting works so many miracles, I'll just give you a day by day run down.

Monday- we met with a lady that referred herself, Alicia, and it was awesome! She already knew like everything we were teaching her because I guess she has read like 15 books about the LDS church already! The only one she hasn't read is the Book of Mormon haha we gave her one. She did have a bit of a concern with Joseph Smith, but I know as she reads the Book of Mormon and gains a testimony of it, all of those concerns and questions will be answered.

Tuesday- the best day ever, so far. Started off with us calling the wrong number and we got talking with that person and we are going to meet up with them soon! Then we went to this smoke hut thing outside of a senior center and there are the coolest people there! One of them wants to start coming to church! Then we met with this cutest old guy, Clyde. and he wants to be baptized! He's actually not in our area… so we had to give him to the elders, but awe we are so excited for him! Then we got a referral from a less active to go see her daughter Ruby and had an awesome lesson with her and she wants to be baptized too!

Wednesday- we had a World Wide Broadcast! It was for all of the missionaries all around the world! Elder Andersen, Elder Bednar, and Elder Oaks? I believe talked with us! (I don't have my notes and that seems like it was forever ago) and there was three other apostles and the young women's general president. The theme of it was Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts. Aw it was so good. We had dinner with a part member family and the dad is slowly warming up to us, so that is also a miracle!

Thursday- exchanges in Cody! I came back to Sheridan with Sister Jenkins :) she is awesome. We came out at the same time. Good day.

Friday- we met with a girl that Sister Peterson and I tracted into forever ago, Sierra. She kind of disappeared, but we found her last week and were able to share the message of the restoration with her on Friday and she too wants to be baptized! We also met with a ton of people and had some cool lessons that I wish I had more time to
tell you about.

Saturday- we switched back from Cody exchanges. There is a guy that was on date when we first got here named Ryan and he was just not progressing, so we dropped him.  But we went back a couple days ago and he wanted to meet with us again, so we met with him Saturday and he is super ready now! He's on date to be baptized next month too!

Sunday- Ryan, Sierra, and Kenny all came to church! Aw it was the best. And all 3 of them knew someone at church! It was the best. We also had one of the best lessons ever with a guy that hasn't been to church in forever, and he wants to start coming back to church! In that lesson I could feel the spirit testifying of the things that I was saying so strongly as we shared the message of the restoration. I gain a stronger testimony of it everyday. It is so true!

I love this gospel and I love being a missionary! I love you all! Have the best week ever!

Wyoming Mission Life

This week has been SO GOOD. Started off at 3am on Tuesday, leaving for MLC up in Helena. I got to
stay with Sister Moyer!  Oh my goodness MLC was awesome. It is always such a revelatory experience! The spirit is always SO strong. Something that really stood out to me that we talked about was repentance. Repentance is the best! We need to know how to repent and our investigators need to know how to repent, so we can all have a lasting conversion. Also something I've learned about repentance is that it is the best thing ever! We can have the best day ever everyday because of repentance/the atonement. Has today been the best day ever? If not, make it the best day ever and repent! and do it again tomorrow! :) We can repent and change everyday and come closer to our Heavenly Father and more like Christ. Bringing happiness, blessings, and improvement. Making everyday the best day EVER! Sister Bell always talks about how she wants to be SO happy that one day she will be like Ammon and collapse on the ground because she will be SO HAPPY :) haha
Wouldn't that be awesome?! (Alma 27:17-18) life goal.

We did some exchanges this week with the sisters in Gillette. I went with Sister Harris (from my MTC district!) and stayed in her area. We saw SO MANY miracles! First at dinner the member had a whole family over that wasn't members and we were able to share the message of the restoration with them. They said that they would never let the missionaries in when they come and knock on the door, but by having them at dinner with a member that they trust it totally opened their eyes to the gospel and they want to meet with us again! Members are like a secret weapon. They are key!

Also on that exchange we got a call from the zone leaders saying that they have a referral for us! Some elders met him at lunch. So we went over to see him and he was GOLDEN. So prepared. He talked about how he just gave his life to God a couple weeks ago and he wanted to start coming to church! We couldn't go inside because he's a single guy, but shared a small message and set up a time to meet with him the next week. As we left we really felt we should meet with him sooner. We ended up calling him and meeting with him the next morning. We brought some awesome members with us and shared the message of the restoration. He loved Joseph Smith’s experience and definitely felt the spirit! He is going to be baptized February 6th! Best thing ever.

The other night we were visiting with some members that haven't been to church in a long time. The lesson started off with the husband having some doubts about things we believe, but slowly as we shared Joseph Smith’s experience and the spirit got stronger and stronger his heart was definitely changed. He understood the gospel in a different light and is going to start reading the Book of Mormon again! He even told us to come back anytime! It was a testimony to me to see how much the spirit of God influences us and helps us to know and understand truths.

Sheridan is still amazing! I love love love being a missionary!! Thank you for all your prayers. It makes such a difference :) I love you all! Have the best week ever!!

Sheridan Miracles!

This week has been a weird week, but it has been so great! So many miracles! I was still in Billings till Wednesday. Lots of miracles are going on there! On Wednesday I was companions with Sister Pearson again! (My MTC companion) Her companion left to go to the other side of the mission at 6am, so we picked her up and I went with her till four. We did some tracting and met some cool people!  Then I got my new companion! Her name is Sister Bell, she is from Gilbert Arizona and she is awesome! :) I've already learned so much from her and I can tell that this is going to be a great transfer!

Miracles! So when Sister Peterson and I first got to this area a couple months ago (I can't believe it's been that long) we had a guy in our area book that was going to be baptized, but when we went to the place that he lived, they said that he had moved away. The other day though, we were in our other area and we had gotten a referral from someone, so we went to go and contact them and a guy came to the door and he said he didn't live there and that he was from Sheridan. Then he said, "you're missionaries right? I'm a Mormon. I just haven't been baptized yet." Haha best thing I've ever heard! Then he said, "yeah, I was going to be baptized a couple of months ago, but I had some family stuff come up and I missed my baptism!" We asked him if he still wanted to be baptized and he said yes! It was awesome! When he said his name I put two and two together and realized that he was the same guy that we couldn't find when we first got here! Turns out he was just staying at that person’s house because they are friends and he is moving up to Billings, so we're going to get him with the missionaries there. It's amazing that we were led to that house right when he would be there, when he was only there for a couple of days! God is pretty good at what he does! :) I love being a part of this work!

Oh! and then right after this happened Kenny (K) called and said that he is going to talk to his boss and try to get all of his Sunday's off at work! You could say it was a good day and Kenny is back on date! He is doing so good!! This week we taught him about the word of wisdom and I was amazed at how well he took it! He knows that God will help him to overcome his addictions and that it is truly a commandment from God that he should follow. We are so excited for him! Keep him in your prayers! :)

I love Sheridan Wyoming! :) It's the best. I love you all! I hope you have the best week ever!

Happy New Year! :)

Hello family!
This week has been SUPER crazy and really long, but really fast at the same time. I'm just going to do it day by day this week: Tuesday- we headed for exchanges in Cody, spent some time there and saw some cool miracles, then we were off to Worland! Did some more exchanges there too and spent the night.

Wednesday-  We went to the Worland’s district meeting and it was really cool! We learned about testimonies and bearing our testimony as often as we can, but nothing that is "memorized" or "the usual" testimony. To give our current testimony! I think it can be easy to get in a rut and say the same testimony and share the same experiences, but to think and ponder on where my testimony is at right now was really cool for me and really opened my eyes to bearing my current testimony more often. There is a quote in Preach My Gospel from Thomas S. Monson that says, "Regarding one’s testimony, remember, that which one willingly shares he keeps, while that which he selfishly keeps he loses.” I love that quote! It's SO true.

Thursday- tracting miracle! So we only had about 10 minutes before dinner and we really wanted to tract, this was Sister Peterson’s last chance to tract! We felt like we should go to 11th street, we only had time for one or two houses, so as we were driving down it I told Sister Peterson to tell me when to stop. Once she felt to stop it was cool because it was right next to a house that I had wanted to try the day before! As we got out and started walking toward the house we saw a lady outside talking on her phone, and we felt like we should go to the next house across the street instead. As we were walking up to that house the lady already saw us and opened the door and said, "aren't you two freezing?" We said something like, "yeah kinda, but it's not too bad!" And she invited us in for some hot chocolate! The first thing that she said when we walked in was, "so how is Joseph Smith doing?" We were kinda confused...haha we said, "well he's not alive anymore" turns out she was super confused on the things that we believed. She thought that Joseph Smith was our God and stuff, but we cleared that up and we practically taught the whole restoration while she was making our hot chocolate and the spirit was so strong as we testified and shared our own experiences of how we gained a testimony of the restored gospel. We ended up being really late to dinner, but it was SO worth it! Also for New Years Eve we didn't do much. We got to stay out until 10.

Friday- Sister Peterson got all packed up :( We got to the gas station before we headed to Billings, then we realized that we needed to activate our gas card, but we don’t have a phone at the moment, so we had no way of activating it and getting gas, so we drove around to some members and our bishop let us use his phone, so we finally got gas and we headed to Billings. That night we got to sleep in mission home! :) those beds are amazing.

Saturday- I got to go to the temple! Sister Peterson was the only sister that was going home this transfer, so I talked to President and he let me go with her! Aw I LOVE the temple. I wish we could go more often. Then the Billings sisters were there to pick me up and I said "see ya later" to Sister Peterson. :( no fun. She headed for the airport and ever since then I've been companions with Sister Van Ausdale and Sister Major in Billings!

Sunday- church! Church was great as usual. :) People are crazy with their pets here in Billings. One person we visited had 14 cats! I was really surprised I didn't have a sneezing attack! And their house wasn't that big and they would get angry with each other and have cats fights! They were pretty intense.

Monday/today- we are going to have a zone preparation day! It's combined with the two zones in Billings, so that's a lot of missionaries haha should be fun! :) Oh and transfer news! I am staying in Sheridan and my new companion is going to be Sister Bell! :) I've met her a couple three times and she seems awesome! I'm excited to get back in Sheridan, it's been too long!

I love you all! Thank you for all of your love and support!
