The Golden Missionary Minute

Another great week in Helena! We just got done hiking Mt. Helena! I about died because I'm so out of shape...but we made it! We had some pretty cool miracles this week!

We had some exchanges with some sisters in Helena, I was with Sister Jacoby! We were out trying a referral and they weren't home. We had about 5 minutes left and we really wanted to hand out a Book of Mormon. There were some apartments down the street, so we RAN down the street to try them, but no one lived in them. So we ran across the street to some other apartments! At first Sister Jacoby said, "let's try #3!" But there was a man outside at number 1, so we talked with him for a second. He wasn't interested and quickly referred us to #3. Even his dog was trying to run us off to get us to #3! So we went! Now we literally had 1 minute left. It was 8:59 and we knocked on this door.  Before he answered the door Sister Jacoby said, "this is the golden missionary minute!" The man answered and turns out his brother is actually a convert to the church. They are moving soon, but we were able to give him a Book of Mormon and talk with him a bit about the gospel! It was a miracle!  An answer to a prayer :) Sometimes we work hard all day and not a lot happens, at least in our eyes. Then at literally the last minute of the day we find what we've been working for. :) It makes it all worth it!

CHURCH!!!
So first ward church - Brian our investigator came!! He's so awesome and he participated a lot! He is still trying to find out if Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God, so keep praying for him! Oh and in sacrament meeting Dan bore his testimony! I don't know if I've told you guys about Dan yet. He's great. Sister Pearson found him on an exchange while tracting. They tracted into his aunt and set up a time to come back, then when we came back she sent Dan out to tell us to go away. We ended up talking with him and found out he is a member! He hasn't been active since he was like 10 and he is in his 50's now. He's got some major word of wisdom issues, but he's working on it! He told us today that yesterday was his last beer!! Which is HUGE for him. HUGE. Funny part of it all though is that he had the last beer right before church... So he was pretty buzzed at church haha When he started walking up to bear his testimony Sister Pearson and I were praying our little hearts out that he wouldn't be too crazy up there! He did good. He kept saying, "I've never been so happy!"  Haha we love Dan. He also has a funny friend that sings songs about everything we talk about when we have a lesson with him.

Fifth ward - There was a long pause during the fast and testimony meeting, then Jennifer leans over to me and says, "it's your turn!" I said, "I'll go if you go!" So we went up together and she bore an amazing testimony. She is such an inspiration to so many. The ward just loves her :)

A scripture I've been loving this week has been Alma 27:17-18 "Now the joy of Ammon was so great even that he was full; yea, he was swallowed up in the joy of his God, even to the exhausting of his strength; and he fell again to the earth. Now was not this exceeding joy? Behold, this is joy which none receiveth save it be the truly penitent and humble seeker of happiness." I want to experience this joy! I’m striving to become a truly penitent and a humble seeker of happiness. I invite you all to do the same! :)

I love you all! Have the best week ever!
Love,
Sister Anderson
